Yes, here’s to Martha Mitchell…She’s the kind of Crazy Lady who yells into telephones in the middle of the night that “Something’s Wrong!” Here’s to them. Her husband didn’t pat her on the head anymore. “Martha’s late night calls have been good fun and games. However, this is a serious issue,” he said, and called her unstable. After awhile he left and took their daughter with him. When she came out from behind her wackiness, they then tried to call her mad. “They threw me on my bed and stuck a needle in my behind. They’re afraid of my honesty….There is absolutely nothing wrong with me except, that I am mentally tortured from the torture I’ve been through. Why did people call me crazy? Because they were trying to shut Martha Mitchell up and they didn’t know how to do it.” Well, she was right and here’s to her. Here’s to them all, all the Crazy Ladies who finally, after a lifetime, refused to stay in their places. Here’s to all the frivolous, flaky ladies who dropped the make of the loveable fool.
