American genocide

Because America is a leader in the world that other countries look to for guidance, we bear great responsibility in the world. Our President, through his denying of the severity of Covid-19, attempts to convince people it is just a cold, that it will go away, in his and his administrations complete lack of preparedness despite being warned in 2018 that pandemic flu was the greatest health emergency has put our country and much of the world at risk. He is therefore complicit in every Covid-19 flu death that happens in the US and in the rest of the world. This is true whether a few hundred die or millions die.

Every sitting Republican Senator (with the exception of Mitt Romney) who did not remove him from office 5 weeks ago, is also complicit and responsible. Every attorney who defended him, every house member who did not vote to impeach him are all complicit. Every Republican who has bowed down to him in the face of his gross incompetence is complicit. Every member of his administration, even those who left beforehand or who were fired, every Secretary of… who has not moved to remove him from office are all complicit. Every Fox News pundit, every conservative host who has said this was a Democratic hoax. If millions die, all those who would have been saved if we had a competent President and administration all already have blood on their hands. If millions die across the world, that genocide is on all of their hands all that blood and pain and despair, they own it. Let us not forget, they were told in 2018 this could happen. There were plans in place to deal with it. That team was fired. The CDC is woefully understaffed due to his cuts. Many 100s if not 1000s of government positions that could help deal with this are not filled. Entire scientific teams have been fired. The President’s credibility, the thing a government needs the most in a time of crisis is nonexistent (as they even now continue to clarify his statements from last night’s address). Anyone of the republican candidates for the Presidency in 2016 could have done a better job then this clown. The fact they did not drop out and have one of their members become THE candidate also means they are all complicit. Years from now, I hope to see them all tried by the world court for their roles in every death that could have been prevented.

Bedtime prayer

Laying in bed waiting for an almost three-year-old to fall asleep I was trying to remember the prayer my family all said before bedtime.

Angel of God
My darling dear
True is the rose
By any other name a rose
Out damn spot
If I die before I wake
Let none of my siblings
my toys take
Chim chim Cherie
a sweep is as lucky
As lucky as can be
Let it be, let I’d be
Let It be now, let
Speaking words of silence
Hello darkness my old friend
I’ve come to bless mommy and daddy
God bless thee merry gentleman
God bless Jiminie cricket
Oh Toto
Run forest run
And god bless JimBob and Mary Ellen
and lead us not into temptation
Luke, I am your father
And deliver us 8 large pizzas
For thine is the power of
Mutual of Omaha wild kingdom
Oh Barnabas can’t be a vampire
Ever this day
Be at my side
God bless us, everyone
And all our enemies and friends
Amen

Or something like that

ERA

Listen up all my friends, who are rightfully really upset about Elizabeth Warren being pretty much out as a candidate, also about Amy Klobucher, Kamilla Harris, and Kristen Gillibrand, and more. Now we are left with a bunch of old white guys, again. Why? Let’s get real. Every right a woman has today, is through court rulings and Title 9. A woman has no constitutional right to equal anything. All of your gains could be stripped away by our now very conservative courts and Supreme Court. Our current Supreme Courts that is all about removing old precedents and rulings, like Rowe, maybe Brown vs Topeka. Mitch McConnell and Trump have been stacking the Federal Courts with really wacko conservative judges, who will make the world look like it was when Mitch was a young man. Hint, he was born in the South in 1942.

Do you know what women’s’ rights and let along civil rights were like in the 40s, 50s, 60s, and even 70’s? That’s what he is shooting for. Look at our President. Look at our current vice president. Our Vice President, who won’t be alone with a woman unless his wife is present.

Now just think IF Trump gets four more years, and then Ruth Bader Ginsberg dies and he gets to appoint another man to the Supreme Court. You know it will be a man or it will be some real nut job crazy woman like Laura Ingraham, imagine her on the Supreme Court.

Look right now. The only thing that could protect you from that is the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). That would put a woman’s rights to equality in the Constitution. Now, enough States have voted for it (as of February), so it should be ratified and be in the Constitution as of February. But it is not, and McConnell, the Senate Republicans, Trump, and Bill Barr’s Justice Department are stopping it. Did you see any women in that list? So, if you want Elizabeth Warren to win, then you and I have serious sh&* to do to force the ERA into the Constitution. Otherwise, it really will soon be a Handmaid’s tale in America just like the 1940s when Mitch was a little boy growing up in the Jim Crow Alabama.

So ask yourself, which politicians have you heard talking about it. Climate change is our number one concern, but this, with the badness going on with Trump and McConnell is very close. So start posting, talking, calling, and organizing about this. Because if you don’t there may never be another serious female candidate for President.

I could tag every woman I know, but I won’t, so please read and if you agree then share, and then organize,

Karma

We all live our days consumed by our own importance.  Yet, reading and studying history as a hobby, almost everyone I study has been long forgotten. Maybe they passed on some genes, maybe they did not.  Maybe there are tens, dozens, or 100s of people living today who share some of their DNA, or maybe no-one.  They also lived their days and maybe breathed their last death doing or thinking they were doing something of importance.  Yet, today, who knows, and to a certain extent cares.  So what is left, a gravestone, a memory, a picture?

So I prefer to think of karma.  The idea that good acts matter.  That good acts can change the balance of history, of life, of the universe more to the good and less towards the bad. That if the great arc of history is moving towards the light, that living a life that creates good karma helps it do so.  So that hundreds of years, tens of thousands of years, millions of years from now, when my dust is not even dust anymore, that some action I did today or tomorrow, like a fleck of light has and continues to turn the wheel of the universe towards light and away from darkness.

So consider joining me in making that iota of light.
